LONG TIME LOVERS (8) went back to last from the outside stall then closed at a rate of knots to be beaten just over a length in an impressive return last start over this course and distance. Will travel closer from a better gate today. Not much depth to this race so she should be breaking through. JACK THE BOSS (7) settled just off the speed in a small field last start but couldn't make any inroads over this distance at Moree. Has been up for a while and probably won't get any better. Still looks a clear quinella hope. SPUNKY REWARD (11) is back after a five-month spell. Best of four runs in the maiden prep was the most recent when fourth over today's journey at Parkes. Each-way contender. BLACK DYNASTY (1) is a first starter from the Mulholland stable. Placed in a recent Dubbo trial. Won't need to be Phar Lap to mix it with these. FORTIANS (5) has had 22 starts and looks a long way off a maiden win. Throw him in the wider exotics.
