Open affair. VIRGIL'S GIFT (5) went close two back when fresh from a 44-day let-up over 1400m at the Kensington track. Led but found the opposition too classy Saturday week ago at Rosehill. Back in her right race today and she should give a ton of cheek. JOHN DORY (2) was given the run of the race but didn't quicken as hoped in heavy going at the Kensington track last time out. Down in grade today but does have a steadier of 61.5kgs. Is a winner here at the trip and should run a big race. WHACK ATTACK (6) just missed when resuming over 1200m at Gosford recently. Better placed out to this trip. Just needs luck from a sticky draw to be right in the finish. SISTER DAAE (8) knuckled down late to get up for third over this distance at the Kenso last Wednesday. Very fit mare who should be peaking this afternoon. LET'S FLY (7) is in contention on a six-day back-up.
