HILLBILLY HIPPIE (9) broke her maiden last start with a tough on-pace display over 1400m at this track. Very fit filly who finds the right time to tackle the mile for the first time. Going better than most of these and can get the job done again. DAM IMPACT (8) settled midfield then whacked away in sloppy conditions without threatening last time out over 1400m at this circuit. Gets a bit of weight relief today. New to the trip but it looks a good option. BONJOUR BILL (11) is a nine-start maiden who caught the eye here 16 days ago when he closed well to beat all but Hillbilly Hippie over 1400m. Enjoys a 2.5 kg weight swing today for a one-length defeat. Big chance to turn the tables. The lightly raced BATTLE SCARS (10) came off a two-month let-up when a fast-finishing third over 1400m here recently. Fitter for that run and not out of contention. SMOKEY SAINT (6) backs up five days after a close third over 1808m at Port Macquarie. Rock hard fit and should be thereabouts.
