FINANCE WORK (2) is back from a 15-week spell and is now in the Peter Reynolds stable. Ran a couple of nice races in country Victoria to open the maiden campaign. Not far behind the smart Elson Boy in a recent trial. Looks ready to make an immediate impression. TAMPA BAY (9) had a five-week let-up and improved sharply last start, beaten under a length over this distance at Forbes. Still waiting for the maiden win after 18 attempts which is a worry, but that latest effort was encouraging. POETIC WAY (3) has switched from Grahame Begg to Stephen Edwards since failing at Pakenham synthetic five weeks ago. Ran a decent race at the same circuit the run prior. Should be good enough to mix it with these. MIDNIGHT IN MINORI (8) returns this prep under new trainer Connie Greig. Capable of a bright return from a 14-week lay-off. THE LAST ROMANOV (6) strips fitter after an encouraging first-up run.
