The blinkers will replace the winkers, and with 2 narrow defeats recently, she is poised to go one better here. PLAIN SAILING (3) was put aside to mature after a couple of sound efforts in May during his initial campaign, including finishing second on debut at Whanganui. He has been improving in each of his tune-up trials and should be ready to rumble fresh up. VANRIO (2) ended his initial prep with a second at Waverley in early April. He is bred to improve with time, and was close up in a recent trial. A good draw helps, and he is worth each-way consideration, especially if the money comes for him. CROIX DE GUERRE (17) has a good draw, and his first win is not far away. CURTSY (9) showed a lot of pace in his last couple of starts on the poly at Awapuni and will be a lot stronger this season.
