Hard not to be positive about all 5 in what rates a cracking beginners' chase. LUMP SUM firmly established himself as a smart performer over hurdles last season and boasts an excellent record when fresh, so he could be the way to go back from 6 months off before market clues. Junker D'allier and Vanderpoel may well emerge as the principal dangers.

Developed into a smart performer over hurdles last season, bagging Welsh Champion Hurdle on reappearance and placed in Fighting Fifth, William Hill Hurdle thereafter. Down the field in Imperial Cup final start but very interesting now attentions switch to larger obstacles on return.

Much improved after breathing surgery last season, landing novice events either side of Christmas. Didn't appear to get home in Albert Bartlett at the Festival but quickly back to winning ways back down in trip in novice at Cheltenham (20.2f) in April. Interesting now chasing for the first time.

Off mark in Irish points at second attempt and had little trouble landing first 2 starts in maiden/novice hurdles earlier this year (debut form strong). Possible he overdid things when pulled up in Grade 2 final start in March but he remains a very interesting prospect now sent chasing.

Runner-up all 3 starts in bumpers and fairly useful form in first season as a hurdler last term, taking his record over to timber to 3-5 in 9-runner novice at Perth (16.2f) in April, having been allowed his head. Type to make into a useful novice in this sphere. Had wind surgery/tongue tie applied.

Fourth sole start in points in spring of last year and promising start making Rules bow when staying on second of 9 in bumper at Fairyhouse (16.5f) on New Year's Day. Acquired by new connections for £85,000 later in January and he's an interesting chase debutant. Hood/tongue tie fitted.
