BURLINGTON GATE (7) put in a much better effort third up at Wodonga when finding the line well for a narrow fifth over 2050m. She drops a notch in class for this and should be ready to peak rising in trip with the in-form Luke Currie booked to ride. GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS (10) can be hit or miss. She was poor at Geelong last time but the country cups form prior is good and she could be an improver. BUDDONG (1) was outclassed and beaten a long way at Cranbourne last time. She was a winner in this grade prior and sets up nicely from the soft gate. REBADGE (8) has had a mid-prep trial since an even effort at Pakenham second up. He should be at peak fitness now and could prove hard to hold out. MAKHANDA (11) broke through for a narrow maiden win last time and could measure up.
