AVENUE MONTAIGNE (5) returns from a 16-week spell. Raced handy at her only appearance then drove hard but just missed over 1250m at Canterbury. Three trials in September should have her in top shape to launch this campaign. PIERRO LAD (4) looms as a serious threat after an eye-catching debut over 1100m at Canterbury three weeks back, thundering home to grab third after showing little early dash. This trip looks made to order. PANOVA (8) was nine weeks between runs before her closing fourth over 1200m at Warwick Farm recently. Sure to take a lot from that run and an extra furlong does her chances no harm. PICTOR (3) started favourite but was disappointing over 1100m at Canterbury last start. That was his first run in nine weeks so an extra 300m with that run under the belt should see some improvement. EMBALLEE (2) found 1250m at Newcastle first-up a bit sharp.
