Genuine young stayer TRAVOLTA (17) has been beaten by a couple of today's key rivals in lead-up races but the margins haven't been great. Probably box-seats from the inside gate and with the light weight he can show a turn of foot when produced. Double-figure odds are quite appealing. BIRDMAN (7) staked his claim last time out with a slogging win in the 2400m Colin Stephen. Needs to slot in somehow from the wide draw but with any luck he is a genuine threat. FLYING BANDIT (16) hasn't threatened in his two runs this prep over shorter trips, but his ratings under big weights have been solid. Drops a massive 10.5kgs and will strip fitter third-up. Nice one to throw in exotics at a price. SOUL OF SPAIN (9) is racing through the grades impressively this prep, unbeaten in three including the Newcastle Cup last time. D-Day now but with only 50.5kgs he gets his chance. GLORY DAZE (12) for Ciaron Maher loves Randwick and is another in the mix due to his light weight.
