A few Everest slot holders using this as a final tune-up for the big one in a fortnight. BRIASA (2) worked his way into the race and looked the winner until Joliestar emerged late in The Shorts over 1100m here two weeks ago. Won the TJ second-up last prep over this course and distance off an inferior first-up performance. Clearly the one to beat. JIMMYSSTAR (1) couldn't go with them early in the Concorde but went through his gears nicely at the end of 1000m. The small field suits but the lack of a genuine tempo might work against. Still hard to leave out as he gets to a more suitable trip. PRIVATE HARRY (6) was heavily backed but had no excuses for his first-up flop in The Shorts. Unbeaten prior to that. Really needs to step up here to be taken seriously at the elite level. MAZU (4) is not quite up to this standard anymore. A cheap lead and a kick on top of the rise could see him prominent for a long way. TIGER SHARK (7) next best but looks outclassed.
