TAKE THE FIELD (2) just missed first-up in a Midweek maiden at Belmont, beaten narrowly on Soft going. He's sure to be better for that effort and the rise in trip doesn't look a problem. The form out of his last start has been good and with improvement likely, this looks a good race for him. FLAMING RONDA (7) was good here 17 days ago when only 1.4L away on a Heavy deck. A firmer surface today may suit her better and she has the speed to offset the sticky gate. The one that beat her went around favourite in town on Wednesday and she's the main danger. WAHOOCHINO (10) was good late in his latest trial only a few days ago at Lark Hill and CJP sticks with him from the trials. His late work was very impressive and the 1300m journey first-up looks ideal. Can fire a shot. OFF GRID (3) was solid from the back first-up and should appreciate the rise in trip. POINT OF LUCK (6) can play a role if they overdo it up front.
