WILDERNESS STAR (6) went to the lead and tried hard but eventually tired to finish sixth last start over 1500m at Port Macquarie. Fitter for two runs back from a let-up and this slightly shorter trip is to her advantage. Likes it wet and will give them something to catch. RESURRECTED (5) turned things around last start, closing late to be beaten under a length over 1200m at Ipswich. Loves it wet and has placed three from four at this distance so he has the right credentials. HARDLEY GREY (1) produced a real eye-catcher last start over 1400m at Casino, quickening impressively in the heavy going from near the tail to get up for second. Meets a better field today but gets a bit of weight relief and should be strong through the line again. OTTOMAN EMPIRE (3) is back from a seventy-four-day spell. Excels in wet conditions so despite the gap between runs he cannot be overlooked. BUSH WARRIOR (9) is up on grade but recent efforts under big weights have been sound.
