YANKEE ACE (3) stepped up to this trip at Northam and looked a run short beaten 1.5L. He draws for a soft run, and Chris Parnham goes aboard. He has more to offer and gets his chance. NEW HYMN SHEET (8) won a Lark Hill trial and was expected to win at Northam on debut. Lacked finishing dash, but she will have taken fitness and learning. A work in progress, but it's hard to risk the potent Pike-Williams linkage. GLANCED (7) was good here at the back of her first campaign and wasn't beaten far at the track first-up after a slow away. Keeps CJP and is back after 7 days. May sit closer today, and with the extra fitness, she should be right in it. COSTA STAR (5) had been plain in the last two, but brought threatening form to those. Comes back to a sprint briefly freshened, and Fiore replaces CJP. Draws wide but is worth a look.
