Dan Skelton's L'EAU DU SUD made great strides over fences as a novice last season, winning four times and also coming in fourth in the Arkle, and he is fancied to garner another victory dropped to handicap company for his seasonal return. Henry de Bromhead's Special Cadeau is feared most on the back of a resurgent Roscommon second, although plenty of others also make appeal, notably General Medrano, Shakeyatailfeather and Sans Bruit. Last year's winner Martator completes the shortlist.

Quick to make his mark over fences last term and completed a four-timer in Grade 2 Kingmaker at Warwick in February. Posted a good fourth in Arkle at Cheltenham after and a bold showing is likely on the cards on his return.

A 3-time C&D winner, including in this 12 months ago, but he ended last term under a cloud. Has won off a break though so needs considering off a tempting mark on his seasonal return.

Winless since early 2024 but he wasn't disgraced when second of 4 at Market Rasen (19.2f, good to firm) in March. 2 lb out of the handicap but no forlorn hope given he goes well fresh.

Took this prize in 2023 but very lightly raced last season and he came in a well-beaten last of 4 in Clarence House over C&D in January. This veteran needs to hit the ground running after 9 months off.

Enjoyed a good past season when scoring at Newbury (2m) and also coming in a solid eighth in Cheltenham's Grand Annual. Has won on his return before so must enter calculations off a handy-looking mark.

Very useful 2m-winning chaser who bounced back to form when second of 6 to Westport Cove in Grade 3 chase at Roscommon (16.7f, good to soft) 33 days ago. This Irish challenger is much respected on his handicap chase debut.

Resumed her progress with a ready success in 5-runner handicap chase at Kelso (17.1f, good) 27 days ago. Up 9 lb (including being 1 lb "wrong" in the weights) but she's not taken lightly.

Not the easiest to catch right but he proved better than ever when landing 23-runner handicap chase at Punchestown (16.3f, good) in May. Hiked up 10 lb here so needs to be on his A-game.

A two-time scorer (at up to 2m2f) for his current yard at Huntingdon and Kempton last season but only seventh in 2m1f Plumpton handicap in April. Still can't be discounted on his return with relatively few miles on the clock over fences.

Very useful on his day but his overall record is patchy and he followed 2m wins at Wincanton and Hereford last spring with a poor run at Chepstow final run. No surprise to see him bounce back here.
