KAIHOKO (4) made up a lot of ground fresh up when finishing third at Taree and then stepped right up in class at Canterbury and unleashed a powerful run to score by a neck in a very impressive effort. He will still be on the up with his fitness, and despite a wide draw, he is the one to beat again. CRITICAL TIME (8) has been holding his form well this year and was fourth as a favourite at Ballina last start. He is at his best on a soft track, and with conditions to suit, he should be right in the finish again. ENSIGN PARKER (9) finished fifth as favourite at Taree 2 weeks ago and was found to be mildly lame after the run. His form prior was very good, and Aaron Bullock takes over the reins, which is a good lead. Follow your money. AUZSTAR (1) is a handy gelding resuming from a spell, and he has had a recent trial to sharpen him up. A 3kg claim will help. Watch closely. TAKING THE MIKKI (11) strips fitter second up and is well worth including in all combinations.
