Lightly raced mare BIG RED TEQUILA (3) scored first-up over this trip at Kembla then powered home late but just ran out of time at the end of 1100m on the main track here last start. Drops back to midweek company and has won on a heavy surface in town before. This looks an ideal assignment. VANLEE (9) overcame a poor start to be beaten under a length when resuming over 1100m at Canterbury last time out. Handles all going and with the run under the belt is a serious contender. VANESSI (7) had excuses when out of the money first-up at Canterbury recently. Returned a good figure when beaten just a neck on a heavy deck at Canterbury last prep. Good second-up performer with undeniable claims. ART'S ALIVE (1) resumes. Prefer her with less give in the ground but she goes well fresh and did trial impressively at Randwick recently. Last start Moruya winner PRINCESS HALO (8) relishes wet conditions so she can make her mark in town without surprising.
