Raised his game when belatedly getting his head back in front over 1m here in June and posted another creditable effort having dropped back to that mark when 2¼ lengths third of 11 to Sunriseontheboyne in handicap at this course (1m) 3 days ago. Not taken lightly.

Went close at Southwell on first start of the season but has tended to need things to drop his way and couldn't get involved in a race dominated by prominently-ridden rivals there (7f) 40 days ago. Not one to rule out from this reduced mark, though.

Has rolled back the years since turning 9, winning 4 times here (all at 6f) in January/February but lesser efforts on his last 2 outings and he's entitled to need this outing after 6 months off.
