Tricky little race with a few first starters engaged. LADY YARROW (5) excellent return on the heavy (9) track when she surged late for an unlucky second over 1200m at Wagga in A Super Mdn. Talented mare who looks too good for these. DOORALONG (1) eased late in betting on debut when a respectable fourth over 1100m at Nowra on the heavy track. Strips fitter and the extra trip is in his favour. GAELIC GEM (10) Farnan filly from Now Now on debut for the Luke Pepper yard. Looked to have plenty in reserve when second in a Wagga 1000m trial. Maps well on the improving surface. CHOCECLAIR (9) returned for her second campaign with a disappointing seventh over 1200m at Kembla Grange. Has a host of gear changes and back in grade here.

VerdictFirst starter by Farnan out of Now Now. Trialled on August 28 when second at Wagga over 1000m. Barrier an advantage. Nice filly who must be kept safe.
