The $200,000 Group 3 Ken Russell Memorial Classic. BEADMAN (3) only went down by a narrow margin on debut before going one better at Newcastle last time out in an impressive performance. Will have taken some confidence from that victory and gets the services of McDonald from a favourable draw. Plenty to like about his prospects. It's hard to knock the form of SUNRAYS (9) who strung three wins together on the bounce before being tipped out for time to furnish. Difficult to ignore fillies in form. The well-related FABULANTES (4) (full to G1 winner Startantes) led all the way to score on debut and draws perfectly in gate two. Right in this contest. LUCKY LASS (10) gets a good front-running jockey on board in the form of T Clark and can give backers a sight. BETTERLUCKNEXTTIME (1) has placed over this track and trip and may earn some minor money.
