I HAD A DREAM (1) is knocking on the door of a maiden win, missing out by a head here last start after leading throughout. He was on the quick turnaround there and put up a strong figure against this field. He can be prominent again from the inside draw and with the apprentice claim this time, he'll be hard to catch. VERVAIN (3) showed promising signs in his debut campaign when narrowly missing at Kalgoorlie when in the market. His latest outing at Belmont was sound and Staples sticks with him from that heat. Drawn sticky but may just be too classy in the end. PANCHO'S PLACE (7) comes back to 1100m today which is the query, following a career best last start over the 1400m. He wasn't far away on debut at this track and trip however and he is likely to be in the finish once again. THREE AY EM (5) will find this a little easier today and gets the blinkers on. Can improve. NUTBUSH CITY (11) is next best.
