Verdict
Plenty of first starters so some guesswork involved. Pierro debutante AVENUE MONTAIGNE (2) looks the goods for Waterhouse/Bott following a couple of nice trials, the latest a second on 29 May at Rosehill. Might lead from gate one and will take some running down. STRAIGHT SETS (6) is a half-sister to the handy Fire Star making her debut. Has won both trials impressively and looks ready to make an immediate impact. $3 million yearling purchase ERNAUX (1) has a fair way to go to recoup the expense. Resumed with an eye-catching second in a 1100m Warwick Farm maiden last start. Will enjoy the extra trip here and should be tough to hold out. Gai and Adrian's KAKADU SUNSET (4) steps out for the first time. By Extreme Choice from a Sebring mare. The latest trial was encouraging so keep close tabs on her. SAPLING (9) resumed with a decent effort here three weeks ago and is open to further improvement.

Last start 7th of 11 at this track 2yo F Mdn-Sw on June 9 over 1250m, on a slow track; 3.5 len behind Pillow Fight with 54kg at $201. Not going well enough.
