SHAZAIR (1) bounced straight back winning here this grade and trip and the lightly-raced mare keeps improving. Will need a touch of luck pushing forward from the awkward barrier but is well-placed to repeat the dose. AZABELLE (3) is a danger. Went to Ascot seeking the hat-trick off easy wins at Pinjarra but disappointed as a $3.60 favourite. The 2kg is handy and she will position forward. Better suited and on a 7-day return will get every chance to make amends. BIRD ON A WIRE (5) drops back from a middle distance outing at Pinjarra, where she failed to finish it off as favourite. She'd come off a CL1 win at Ascot over 1800m and can get back on track. The 2kg apprentice should secure the run of the race and she has each-way claims. OISIN (4) just missed in a CL1 at Ascot over this trip and then tackled a middle distance at Pinjarra and folded up from the front as a $3.3 favourite (vet-slow to recover). He's been freshened a month and a much better effort is on the cards.
