The Grand Annual. DUKE OF BEDFORD (5) was impressive winning the Brierly on Tuesday, handling the circuit beautifully and jumping cleanly to win by four lengths. Obviously he's a query at the 5500m but that's the case for most of them every year. Nothing he did suggested it'd be more of an issue for him than any of the others out of that race. BERRY THE CASH (1) might be the big improver from Tuesday. He had 71kg there and stuck on gamely at his Australian debut. Meets the winner 2kg better and fancy he'll stay the journey well. FREDDY THE EAGLE (8) stuck on well in the Brierly for second. He's another unknown over this journey but you've got Symon Wilde in your corner. COUNT ZERO (2) won this last year. No lead-up run here but trust the Wilde yard. HEIR TO THE THRONE (6) was sound in the Brierly and has each-way claims.
