Has a good record over this track and trip and should be on the right part of the track at this stage of the day. Goes close. THE NOVELIST (7) came out fast from the sticky draw and found wanting late when second in the LR Ortensia Stakes at Scone over this trip. Proven second up and will be in this for a long way. CONTEMPORARY (3) saves his best for this course and distance and expecting a better performance second up. Gets through the conditions and ready to lift. The race doesn't end there with both BARBER (6) and CIGAR FLICK (13) all worthy contenders.
