ALALCANCE (4) couldn't have been more impressive at her first Australian start when sitting on the speed with the 58kg for an emphatic 3.5 len victory over 2140m at Warwick Farm on September 25. Since fitted with two searching trials and will prove hard to run down again in this stronger contest. MODESTY (7) improved sharply at his second Australian start when swooping late for a narrow victory over 1800m at Rosehill on November 9. Will have little trouble running the 2000m out with the extra weight. Profiles nicely. ARISTONOUS (6) mixing form at his last five outings and worth one more chance here with the 3kg claim. Not that far away on the line when fifth over 2000m at Rosehill on November 2. Goes into the exotics. GILDED WATER (11) owned by H M The King and makes his Australian debut for the Maher stable.
