A couple of scratchings thin this out but it still looks a competitive heat. MERCHANT LADY (2) is in a top metro stable and did a good job to land the prize at Gatton first-up. She was expected to need it (betting let her slip around at 16/1) and given that its easy to think that she will keep improving into the campaign. Draws low today and will get every chance. PYROIS (5) rates well enough, but where he gets to from the inside barrier is a query. Has the blinkers on again and is in the mix. PRADO (3) resumes and will be around the mark if presented forward. Will be better getting out towards the mile again but not dismissing.
