PARTING THE SEAS (1) is a four-year-old gelding who is having his first run for the John Shelton stable. Finished off last campaign with a sixth at Canberra three-and-a-half months ago. Hasn't trialled publicly but looks well placed. Leading prospect. PROTECTIONISM (5) is a daughter of American Pharoah from the Group 1 winner Godiva Rock who makes her debut. Nice draw so she gets her chance. SIVO (2) last appeared when sixth over 1006m at Grafton six months ago. Is a likely improver that is worth plenty of thought in this thin contest. SPIRIT OF DESTINY (3) turned in a decent effort last start to finish third over 950m at Moree. Another likely improver so plenty to like about his chances. WRITTEN LEGACY (6) returns. Strips fitter for two trials and is drawn to get all the favours from the inside pillar. Worth monitoring for market support.
