ALASKAN BAY (1) finished second, beaten a long neck, over this trip at Taree on debut 11 weeks ago and has been kept under wraps since. Sure to have improved over the break and looks well placed to be in the finish again. CARAFE (4) turned in a nice run when fresh from a spell two starts back at Port Macquarie then missed the placings last time at Nowra. Rates highly and is right in the mix. STARWARD (3) is backing up five days after he was safely held in fifth at Taree against better opposition. Better than that last run suggests and is worth keeping safe. CASSIE'S ANGEL (5) is a three-year-old gelding on debut from the stable of Jay Hopkins. By Harry Angel from Cassini Star. Comes here off a Beaumont (Newcastle) trial. Watch the market closely.
