It was a pretty taking performance that FORT GEORGE delivered on his handicap debut at the Newmarket Craven meeting and, with further progress on the cards, a 5 lb rise is unlikely to prevent him from going in again. Indeed, he has the makings of a useful handicapper and looks the type who could emerge as a leading candidate for the Britannia at Royal Ascot next month. Arctic Grey and Transparent are feared most in that order of preference, while Wiltshire Lad is also shortlisted.

Shaped well all 3 starts on the AW as a 2-y-o (gelded following final run of juvenile campaign) and displayed a useful turn of foot when scoring on his handicap/turf debut at Newmarket (1m, good) 3 weeks ago. 5 lb rise by no means the end of the world and he probably has more to offer.

Confirmed promise of debut second when running out a good winner of a Kempton novice (7f) in January. Followed up at Southwell next time before progressing again to finish second on handicap/turf debut at Newmarket (1m, good). Likely to be on the premises once more.

Stepped up on 2-y-o exploits when justifying favouritism on return in a 1m Windsor maiden (good to firm) last month, proving a length too strong for subsequent winner Herculeus. More will be needed now handicapping but he's hardly exposed and has the assistance of William Buick here.

Much-improved when winning 7-runner nursery at Southwell (1m) in October (final start for Sir Michael Stoute). Subsequently gelded and was rather disappointing on return for new yard at Musselburgh, but he's certainly not one to write off just yet.

Fetched 80,000 gns as a yearling and made winning start to his career in a 1m Southwell novice last month. Subsequently chased home one with Group-race aspirations in Sallaal at Hamilton (8.3f, good to firm) and further progress likely now handicapping.

Costly purchase who left low-key 2-y-o debut well behind when landing a 1m Haydock novice (good) in first-time cheekpieces in September. Good second at Yarmouth on final start of last season, but she didn't make much of an impact on return/handicap bow at Southwell (1m).

Shaped well first 2 starts at 2 yrs, third in a Salisbury novice on debut and then fourth in a valuable sales race in Ireland. However, he subsequently failed to land the odds in a couple of runs on the AW (both 7f) and improvement needed now upped to a mile for this handicap bow. Gelded.

Built on promising Brocklesby fourth when landing a 5f Thirsk maiden for Alice Haynes last spring. Performed above market expectations by making the frame in the Woodcote at Epsom on final start of his 2-y-o campaign but subsequent absence is a concern ahead of this handicap/yard debut.
