APACHE BREEZE (1) appreciated a drop in grade and returned to form last time out, beaten under two lengths into third over today's trip at Newcastle. Goes from a BM68 last time to a BM64 today and is nicely treated after the claim. Major player. ENSIGN PARKER (12) led but was gone on straightening over 1450m at Muswellbrook recently. Better placed back to six furlongs so expect a big improvement. BAKHITA (11) returned from a twenty-week spell with a tough win over 1100m at Armidale recently. All her form to date has come on rain affected ground so today's conditions suit perfectly. Major player again. CEASEFIRE (8) is back from a break and generally comes to hand quickly. A sound trial at Newcastle nine days ago suggests he is on target for a positive return. TIME FOR VICTORY (4) wasn't beaten far first-up at Tuncurry and is down in class. Cannot be ruled out.
