How do I receive SMS messages from Staruniv?

To receive SMS messages from Staruniv, you must register and validate your mobile number.

You can add, update, or remove your mobile number in the phone settings for your account.

 

What SMS messages does Staruniv send?

Staruniv sends two types of SMS messages:

Marketing messages

Marketing SMS messages may include:

  • Exclusive bonuses
  • Promotional offers
  • Freerolls for players who have validated their mobile number

Account security messages

Account security SMS messages are sent when security actions are required.

Examples include:

  • Resetting a forgotten PIN
  • Recovering access to an RSA Security Token
  • Confirming account activity through SMS validation

 

What is SMS validation?

SMS validation is a security feature that protects your account during unusual activity.

If SMS validation is enabled and suspicious activity is detected, Staruniv will:

  • Send a verification code to your mobile phone
  • Temporarily restrict real money transactions

During this time, you can still play in tournaments you have already registered for.

However, you cannot:

  • Make deposits, withdrawals or real money transfers
  • Register for tournaments or play cash games
  • Change login security settings or other sensitive account details

 

How do I register and validate my mobile number?

To receive SMS messages, you must first add and validate your mobile number.

Stars Account Details → Phone → Validate SMS

Desktop software

Settings → Account Details → Phone → Validate SMS

Mobile app

Account → Personal Details → Phone Number → Validate SMS

Add your mobile number and select Save.

An SMS with a code will be sent to you.

Enter the code on the Validation Code screen and select Validate.

 

How do I update my mobile number?

To update a validated mobile number, go to the phone settings.

Enter the new mobile number and select Apply.

 

How do I stop receiving SMS messages?

To stop receiving SMS messages, remove the mobile number from your account.

Go to the phone settings.

Account → Personal Details → Phone Number

Remove the mobile number and select Apply.

 

How do I remove SMS validation restrictions?

SMS validation restrictions are removed after you enter the verification code sent to your mobile phone.

Once the code is confirmed, real money transactions will be available again.

 

How many mobile numbers can I register?

Only one mobile number can be registered to an account at a time.

 

What should I do if I do not receive the SMS code?

If you have not received the SMS code, try resending the code.

Desktop software

Settings → Account Details → Phone → Validate SMS → Resend Code

If the SMS code still does not arrive, check the following:

  1. Enter the mobile number without adding “+” or leading zeros.
  2. Select the correct country and country code.
  3. Remove any automatic signature added to outgoing text messages.
  4. Contact your mobile provider to check if SMS restrictions apply.
  5. If the number was transferred between providers, register and validate a different number.

To register a new number:

Settings → Account Details → Phone

 

What information should I send if I need help with an SMS code?

If you cannot validate your mobile number, contact Support and include the following information:

  1. Mobile operator name
  2. Whether the SIM card is prepaid
  3. Whether the number was transferred from another provider
  4. The number of digits in a mobile number in your country
