He is the main threat to the top pick. MAWKEB (7) is an ex-Victorian-trained mare making her local debut. She might need the run, but her trainer Joe Waldron is quickly making a name for himself back in NZ, and she has to be respected, especially if the money comes for her. BUOYANT (1) likes it here and won't mind dropping back from a mile to 1200m. If the track is heavy, then his winning chances will soar.
