THE PRINCIE ONE (2) is a very well-bred and progressive mare who has been patiently handled. She has a terrific record on this track and does come to hand quickly. She has landed the pole position and is the one to beat fresh up. PETE'S PRIDE (3) is a genuine gelding that has been racing well this season, with a big win at Riccarton 3 starts back, followed by a game second at Trentham, before finishing third here just over 3 weeks ago. He is the main threat to the top pick. MAWKEB (7) is an ex-Victorian-trained mare making her local debut. She might need the run, but her trainer Joe Waldron is quickly making a name for himself back in NZ, and she has to be respected, especially if the money comes for her. BUOYANT (1) likes it here and won't mind dropping back from a mile to 1200m. If the track is heavy, then his winning chances will soar. RADIANT LASS (5) is a last start BM65 winner at Kurow, and though this assignment is much harder, she can still figure in the top 4.
