HAPPY VENTURE (1) was put aside after failing to handle a heavy track here in May. He has always had plenty of support in the market, and should be a lot stronger this season. He has not had a public trial, but draws well and can take this out. KENWOOD HOUSE (5) improved third up and finished second by a neck at long odds nearly 3 weeks ago at Arawa Park. He cops a wide gate here, but if the track is heavy, then it might be a blessing in disguise. Stick with him. DIDA (6) will be making his debut after a couple of solid trials. He is bred to want more ground, but he will be hitting the line late and is worth including in all combinations. COMEDY STAR (3) was out of the money at Te Aroha 10 days ago, but never got a crack at them. He has a superior gate this time and can figure in the top 3 at decent odds. THE RITZ (14) showed improvement at her most recent trial over an unsuitable trip. She will make the grade eventually, and the market is the best guide here.
