Verdict
Lightly raced four-year-old CALGA POWER (1) won easily first-up at Gosford then raced on the speed and tried hard but was denied narrowly last start over 1250m at the Kensington track. Maps nicely behind a strong tempo and with a little weight relief this evening courtesy of Osmond's claim he will be tough to hold out. JAEGERS (10) broke her maiden in the most emphatic style last time out over this course and distance, bouncing straight to the lead then running her rivals ragged over the final furlong. Has only been to the races three times so there is plenty more to come. NEESON (5) has recorded two massive wins of late in the Riverina. Yet to be tested at this level but the manner of his last victory at Albury suggests he is a city-grade galloper. Favourite CINSAULT (9) resumes and is now with Michael Freedman. Progressed nicely last prep and a recent trial win suggests she is ready to perform. BEECHWORTH (7) is also in the mix first-up from a brief spell as a gelding.

VerdictBack from a spell. Only had one start last campaign ran on from midfield and won by a nose at Kembla Grange Cg&E Mdn October 4 over 1200m defeating Pimlico with 57.5kg at $5.50. When resuming last campaign second last of 10 at Warwick Farm 2yo C&G Mdn on April 16 over 1200m, 7 len behind Aerodrome with 57kg at $17. Trialled on December 2 at Canterbury over 895m and finished sixth. Minor claims only. - 6. Stallone

VerdictRacing well recently. At the latest run favourite; raced right near the speed and boxed on; scored a big 5.5 len win at Albury Ctry Bm58 December 6 over 1175m defeating Foreman's Gully with 59.5kg at $1.80. The start before that led but faded 3rd of 10 at Canberra Tab Fed Bm60 on November 23 over 1300m, slow going 1.75 len behind Stormbringer with 58.5kg at $3.40. Racing in great heart and cannot be underestimated. - 3. Il Passero
