It remains to be seen how FAITQUE DE L'ISLE will react to the smaller obstacles, given that he's been campaigned exclusively over fences since August 2021. However, he was runner-up four times from seven appearances over hurdles and, likely to be spot-on following a recent spin at this course, the 10-y-o could be worth chancing. Chief Black Robe posted his best effort a while when second over C&D last time and is just about feared most ahead of Sea Thrift, Dreamweaver and Stiletto.

Four-time winner over fences for Fergal O'Brien in 2023 and while he hasn't stood much racing since, his latest second in an 11-runner C&D handicap was much his best effort since joining this yard. Reproduction of that would give him a fighting chance.

No show in a couple of points and safely held all 3 starts in maiden hurdle. However, she seemingly turned the corner when second of 10 in recent handicap debut here (2½m, good) and this step up in trip could be just what she wants.

Lightly-raced mare who looked an improved performer when making a winning start for new yard in 25f Huntingdon handicap in May. Best effort since when third of 8 at Stratford (2¾m, good to firm) last month and she's not without each-way hope.

Capitalised on a career-low mark when winning under a strong Sean Bowen ride at Newton Abbot (18.5f, good) on second start for new yard in June. Wasn't disgraced when partnered by an amateur over an inadequate trip at Fontwell (19f, good) recently and claims back up in trip/reunited with Bowen here.

Back-to-back winner over fences at Ludlow in February and entitled to come on for his recent run over C&D when returning from a 6-month break. This will be his first hurdles start for over 4 years, but the ability is certainly there if the return to the smaller obstacles tickles his fancy.

Successful 4 times over fences and while he's 0-4 in this sphere and often finishes weakly, it would be unwise to completely rule this 9-y-o out back hurdling off an attractive mark on debut for new yard.

Failed to land a gamble on first run since leaving Billy Aprahamian when creditable third of 8 in handicap hurdle here in May. Has failed to build on that in 2 subsequent starts, though, and needs to get back on track now returning from a break (has undergone a wind op in the interim).

Fairly useful, 4-time Flat winner for Ed Walker, but yet to replicate form akin to that over hurdles for current connections. On the upside, he wasn't disgraced in first-time cheekpieces (retained) at Fontwell (19f, good) last time and this step back up in trip will probably be in his favour.

Won a 23f Hexham handicap in June on only her second start for Sara Ender. Far from disgraced when mid-field back at that course 19 days ago, but she's probably high enough in the weights for now.

Very hard to warm to on this handicap debut having offered precious little in a bumper/3 maiden hurdles. The addition of cheekpieces failed to spark any improvement on latest start and now tried in blinkers.
