Verdict
Big field but happy to stick with the improving UNDERSTUDY (3). Was fair fresh then appreciated every bit of the 1500m last time with a barnstorming maiden win. Fitter again and has upside. The extra ground is a plus and could well go on with it. MORE TORQUE (6) resumed over 1543m at Geelong where he showed little early speed but got home nicely to finish fourth, beaten 2.5 lengths. Will drift back but fitter again will be hard to hold out. MISSILE MEG (8) has finished fourth last couple but not beaten far. Comes back a notch for this and no surprise to see a return to winning form. GULFSTATE (5) dropped back in journey last time and was safely held. Better than that but suited back out in journey and can do much better this time. SON OF GRACE (4) was a winner in similar grade to this two back then fourth in tougher latest. Gets chance to bounce back.

VerdictAt the latest run 9th of 11 at Sale Bm58 on March 30 over 1400m, slow going 7 len behind Midnight Glow carrying 59.5kg at $17. The start before that 8th of 10 at Pakenham Bm64 on March 13 over 1600m, 5.5 len behind Austrata carrying 58.5kg at $8.50. Better than last start and back to a mile can improve sharply. - 9.
