A small but competitive field. Despite being tested beyond the mile for the first time CUESTA (4) gets the nod. Raced handy and wouldn't lie down but just fell short last start in a Class 1 over 1600m here. In the money at eight of ten runs so she is always well-placed - trust that is the case again today. DEZIGNATION (3) was a maiden tackling a Class 1 but still proved too strong over 2200m at Nowra last time out. Has only been to the races four times so there is still plenty of improvement to come. GOLDEN SMILE (5) chalked up a third consecutive minor placing recently when edged out over today's journey at the Beaumont track. Very fit mare who will travel on the speed and give backers a great sight again. GALWAY FLYER (7) saw very little daylight in the straight last start and should have finished closer in a 1900m maiden at Canterbury. Can compete at this level. SPENZALOT (2) was an eye-catcher last time over this trip, missing by a whisker. In the mix again.
