AMERICAN CHEVAL (9) battled on fairly strongly for seventh fresh up at Wingatui when very well supported in the market. She will take a lot from that run, and the extra 135m will be in her favour. The query is the more than 5 weeks between runs, but she should go close to winning this. CHUPALLA (10) only battled on some heavy tracks at the end of her last prep after winning her maiden here in May. She will be a lot stronger now and can run boldly fresh up. Use the market as your best guide. HIGHLAND FLING (2) was runner-up on both days of the recent Cromwell meeting, and cops another wide gate here. Dan Bothamley in the saddle is always a plus, and he deserves to go one better here. CANDIDATE (8) did not fire at all here 8 days ago over a mile. He is better off over the shorter trips and is worth another chance. BEAVER FEVER (12) did not have much luck resuming, and though she has been out of form for some time, this field is not strong. Each way value.
