LET FLY (5) drifted in the betting and needed the run fresh up in her first start in the South Island, battling on late to finish seventh. She will drop 5kg in weight, and was probably targeted for this race. She has a good gate and would not be a shock winner. MAMAEA (9) has improved her form since being tried again in front, winning her penultimate start, and then fighting on bravely to hold second at Riverton just over 2 weeks ago. She likes a wet track, and another honest effort can be expected. MAYOR OF NORWOOD (1) kept on improving this season and won here third up from a spell over 2200m by nearly 2 lengths, maintaining her terrific home track record. Hard to beat again. GENERATION JOY (8) raced handy, and then lengthened nicely to score by half a length here just over 3 weeks ago at BM65 level. She drops in weight and can repeat the dose. PEECEE PUSSYCAT (4) is at his best when leading. With the aid of a 3kg claim, he can take them all the way.
