ROSSO (13) is an up-and-coming South Island-trained stayer who is very well-placed with only 55kg on his back. He has Wellington Cup aspirations, and having Dan Stackhouse over from Australia to take the ride is a very strong lead. On top. ONE BOLD CAT (1) made a welcome return to winning form here over 2200m a fortnight ago, and this former G1 winner is on target to repeat the dose. FREDDIE TIME (8) just keeps on stepping up and coping with some tough assignments since racing in the North Island this season. He was third in the same race behind the second pick last time out, and he has each-way claims again. SASSY LASS (16) is better than her recent form suggests, but would only need a wet track to be very competitive in this field, especially with only 53kg to carry. NOTABADSPILLANE (12) was a game runner-up in his penultimate start in the NZ Cup, and then was fifth at Tauranga 9 days ago. She drops 4kg from that last run, and can figure in the top 4 here.
