Tipperary

Tomorrow, Bumper2m

A trappy finale and it may pay to take a chance on the returning EAGLE'S QUEST who had some relatively strong form in bumpers last year and looks interesting partnered by Patrick Mullins for the first time, particularly if market vibes are positive. Garahon is clearly well thought of by connections and could be seen to much better effect returning to calmer waters on a more galloping track, while State Pension was only narrowly denied on debut at Listowel 15 days ago and looks sure to improve.

Sent off favourite when midfield in a valuable Punchestown bumper on debut. Much improved when runner-up on reappearance but below form in a strong bumper (tongue tie now removed) at the Galway Festival. Clearly well thought of by shrewd yard and he's likely worth another chance in calmer waters.

From a family that yard have had plenty of success with. Hampered on debut and was able to show more when fourth of 7 in bumper at Downpatrick (17.8f, soft, 25/1) 17 days ago, having briefly threated more. In excellent hands and no surprise to see him take another step forward.

€30,000 3-y-o. Goliath Du Berlais gelding. Dam, French hurdler/chase winner, half-sister to useful French hurdler/smart chaser The Stomp. Newcomer (wears tongue strap) makes some appeal on paper but is likely one for another day, unless the market suggests otherwise.

Strong form when fourth in a 'Winter Million' bumper on debut in January last year. Progressed steadily, latest third behind a subsequent winner in a bumper at Roscommon (15.4f, soft) last August. Sole ride on the card for Patrick Mullins and dangerous if ready to roll after a 14-month absence.

€17,000 3-y-o, Diamond Boy gelding. Dam fair 2¾m/23f hurdle winner. Attracted support and shaped well on debut when narrow second of 10 in bumper at Listowel 15 days ago, ran green and only beaten by one with experience (who was below form next time). Entitled to improve and makes plenty of appeal.

Inexpensive purchase and hinted a temperament when fourteenth of 17 in bumper at Galway (16.7f, soft, 125/1) on NH debut 28 days ago. Best to look elsewhere.
