PERSIAN SPIRIT (10) has been good in two runs back from a spell, beaten a head at this track on resumption before being backed into $1.55 last start at Terang in a BM78, only going down by 0.8 lengths. Finds the right race here and should go close. BOLTSAVER (1) just found one better fresh at Echuca, but will be fitter and 1400m suits perfectly. Wide draw likely means he goes back, but the track may be chopping up on the inside by now anyway. RIVERINA POWER (8) has been tackling stronger races of late. Three back she'd run third to Is It Me in a high-rating race at Flemington. Anything like that just about wins this. NAVY KING (7) is fresh for this. He'll get over further, but can sprint well, and if the market likes him, keep him safe. LOOSE ON GIN (9) next best.
