MCTOMINAY (3) missed by 1.3L at the Sapphire Coast first-up and then led at Canberra, beaten half a length over 1400m. He will run along from the inside gate, and Heywood stays aboard. Well-placed and is going to prove tough to run down. CAYMAN ISLAND (8) has been in the placings at his last two starts, the latest over 1450m at Albury, when he was in the firing line all the way. Has to skip over from an awkward but keep an in-form hoop and has winning claims in a suitable race. SUPER NIC (5) missed a whisker this track/trip as a $2.2F and then settled a long way back at the track over a mile and did a good job to finish as close as he did. Maps well today, coming back to 1400m and will get every chance. DEFLECTOR (11) has been heavily bet both starts this preparation and didn't have the best of it at Wagga last time. McDougall has to manage a wide barrier, but the improving mare can feature with average luck.
