VICTORY CLUB was rated much higher over hurdles for previous connections and despite flopping on his first start back with Dan Skelton in May, he looks worth another chance with headgear refitted off a further reduced mark. Recent runner-up Guillaume shapes as though he'll appreciate this step back up in distance and may prove next best ahead of Gms Prince who hit the frame in a couple of similar contests earlier this year.

Capitalised on a drop in the weights when landing a 19.3f Carlisle novices' handicap hurdle but pulled up lame on last hurdle outing. Underlined inconsistency back on the Flat when fifth of 8 in handicap at Chester (15.9f, good to firm) 22 days ago. Chance if on a going day back over hurdles.

Some promise in maiden hurdles but let down by jumping at Haydock in April. First run for yard after leaving Iain Jardine and could improve on handicap hurdle debut if her hurdling holds up over this longer trip.

Maiden lost his way in Ireland, 20/1, eleventh of 14 in handicap hurdle at Downpatrick (17.8f, good) when last seen in July last year. Off 12 months. First run for yard after leaving Gavin Patrick Cromwell but likely to be an outsider returning from a year absence.

Matched previous best when third on handicap debut but ran a shocker at the same course when fourth of 8 in handicap hurdle (13/2) at Newton Abbot (18.5f, good) 26 days ago. Should be suited by this sort of trip but needs to bounce back.

Bounced back to form last time, for all it looked unlikely for a while (dropped to rear 4 out, still plenty to do 3 out), staying on to finish second of 7 in handicap hurdle at Bangor (16.7f, good) 16 days ago. Longer trip looks in his favour and should remain competitive.

    Verdict
Bumper winner (for current yard) who was rated much higher over hurdles for Harriet Dickin and went off odds on having rejoined Dan Skelton but disappointed when fifth of 9 in handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter (15.8f, good) 78 days ago. Cheekpieces refitted and worth another chance from a reduced mark.

    Verdict
Still seeking his first taste of success and found run of good form at Market Rasen coming to a halt when seventh of 8 in handicap hurdle (16.6f, good to firm) 48 days ago. Has been freshened up and this doesn't look the strongest race. Place claims if back on song.

    Verdict
Not troubled the judge thus far and makes return for a new yard (sold out of the Ben Pauling yard for £6,500) after 12 months off. Betting can guide expectations from this much-reduced mark (tongue tie left off and has had another wind operation). Engaged 2.15 Cartmel Saturday.
