A competitive handicap, but there should be more to come from FRENCH MASTER, who was well supported for his handicap debut, and was perhaps ridden too patiently in a race where another unexposed sort made all the running. This is plenty of stamina in his pedigree, so this longer trip should suit, and he's very much one to keep on the right side moving forward. Master Builder is another who has more to offer this season, while Anzac Day is potentially very well treated on his 2-y-o form.

Multiple winner in handicap company last year and she has shown improved form this season, running a cracker to finish third in listed company at Goodwood 3 weeks ago. The return to this longer trip will suit, but she's now 9 lb higher than when third in a handicap at Musselburgh last month.

Useful performer on Flat when trained by Aidan O'Brien and has done well without reaching a similar level of form over hurdles for these connections. Latest win in that sphere came from a mark of 119, so he doesn't look that well treated back on the Flat, but he needs monitoring in the market.

Had an exceptional year in 2024, winning 5 times on the Flat, and once over hurdles. Easy to back and ran a race too bad to be true on return at Epsom last month, soon beaten and eased off. Recent rain will help his chance, but needs a big bounce back.

Well-bred individual who was much improved upped to 1½m last season. Attracted strong support and showed improved form on return/handicap debut at Newmarket 3 weeks ago, beaten only by another unexposed 4-y-o. Will be better for that run and this longer trip can unlock further progress. Big player.

Fine third in Melrose at York last summer then ran out an emphatic winner at Haydock next time. Creditable second at Epsom on return, looming up and looking the likely winner before weakening final furlong. Likely to strip fitter now and return to 1¾m in his favour. Commands respect.

Fairly useful form both on Flat and over hurdles in France and shaped encouragingly in a falsely-run race on stable debut in handicap hurdle at Newbury in March. Returns to Flat now under professional handling, but doesn't look obviously well handicapped.

Didn't need to improve to open account in 1½m novice at Newcastle but did so when following up on handicap debut over this trip at Chelmsford last month. Beaten only by another unexposed sort last time, but he's still improving, and step back up in trip in his favour.

Looked a smart prospect as a juvenile, but missed all of 2024, and looked rusty on return from 18 months off at Kempton last month. Subsequently disqualified as rider weighed in light, but capable of better still, and longer trip worth exploring now making handicap debut. Potentially well treated.

Didn't progress as expected after stylish debut win for Aidan O'Brien, but has got better with each start for this yard, running on late to take second in 1½m handicap at Ascot 2 weeks ago. Races from same mark and should appreciate this step up in trip.

Three-time winner last season and shaped as though retaining all of his ability on return from 7 months off at Newcastle recently, a bit fresh but also forced to make his challenge on opposite flank to the winner. Has winning form over this trip and not discounted.

Won a couple of handicaps last summer and built on his reappearance run when winning 1¾m handicap at Newmarket this month. Landed good support that day and displayed an excellent attitude and a subsequent 3 lb rise should keep him competitive in this company.

Suited by conditions when making all in a small field on his return at Pontefract last season, but didn't really go on from that, well beaten when last seen at Newbury in October. Most of his form on heavy ground, too, so may find conditions a little quick on return for all he's on a good mark.
